Digital Transformation Tax/Treasury Reports to: Associate VP of Tax
Position Description: This position is part of the Tax and Treasury
core leadership teams and will help define and drive the
modernization of our global tax and treasury functions. This role
acts as a bridge to technology, leading the design and execution of
tax and treasury’s digital transformation agenda — from process
automation and real-time visibility to AI-driven forecasting and
intelligent workflows. This is a unique opportunity for a finance
professional who is inquisitive about technology, energized by
transformation, and ready to champion change across systems, data,
and processes. The role will support a diverse set of finance
individuals including global, federal, and state tax, global
treasury, pension and benefits management, insurance and risk
management, and business development financial support. The role
has significant upward influence and exposure opportunities with
Senior Finance leaders. Key Objectives/Deliverables: Digital
Strategy & Innovation: Partner with leaders and external experts to
define and execute a forward-looking digital strategy for global
tax and treasury in alignment with broader finance transformation
goals. Continuously evaluate and pilot emerging technologies (e.g.,
AI/ML, APIs, blockchain, intelligent automation, data lakes) that
enhance the team’s agility, accuracy, and value. Lead tax and
treasury's contribution to enterprise initiatives such as digital
cash flow forecasting, foreign exchange currency management,
virtual account structures, bank connectivity modernization,
AI-based risk modeling, valuation modeling and benchmarking, data
and market analysis, R&D credit analysis, US tax return
enhancements, modernize quarterly year-end close, legal entity
forecast and accounting tax processes, transfer pricing automation,
and indirect tax automations, Evaluation of next generation tools
to accelerate the preparation of tax and treasury reporting and
operational requirements. Technology Leadership: Own the roadmap
for upgrades, automation, and process redesign across cash
management, payments, FX, investments, debt, tax provision and tax
return for global direct tax, transfer pricing, . Serve as a key
liaison with Tech@Lilly, Advance Analytics and Data Sciences
Architecture teams — ensuring tax and treasury’s needs are
prioritized and technically supported. Develop and maintain a
comprehensive understanding of emerging technology trends and their
potential impact on tax and treasury operations. Process
Transformation & Automation: Identify and redesign legacy processes
using tools such as RPA, workflow engines, Power BI, and Alteryx.
Drive real-time data integration, intelligent reconciliation, and
analytics dashboards for better decision-making. Promote a culture
of innovation and continuous improvement within the tax and
treasury teams. Implement best practices for process optimization
and automation to enhance efficiency and reduce operational risk.
Collaboration & Change Management: Partner with key stakeholders in
finance, tax, risk management, and treasury operations to ensure
digital goals align with business priorities. Build strong external
relationships with banks, fintech vendors, and solution providers.
Lead change management efforts to drive adoption, training, and
operational readiness for new systems and ways of working. Foster a
collaborative environment that encourages cross-functional teamwork
and knowledge sharing. Basic Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in
Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or related field. MBA
and/or CPA is preferred. 7 years experience in finance, treasury,
finance transformation, or technology leadership roles. Qualified
applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a

Project management experience. Treasury technology platforms Strong
working knowledge of core financial technology platforms (e.g., S4
Hana, Microsoft Fabric, MS Excel, MS Power Suite). Strong
communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and
influence others, especially under pressure. Strong technical
skills, including proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, SAP, and
Business Objects, and willingness to adapt to and leverage new
technologies. Strong desire to learn and intellectually curious.
Proven track record of leading technology-driven transformation
initiatives and driving to solutions within a finance or treasury
function. Ability to think strategically and execute methodically,
with a focus on delivering measurable results. Location: Lilly

on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic
location. The anticipated wage for this position is $154,500 -
$226,600 Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a
company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual
performance). In addition, Lilly offers a comprehensive benefit
