The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mathematics education and a commitment to fostering a positive and engaging learning environment for students in grades 5 and 6. Responsibilities Develop and implement lesson plans that meet curriculum standards and address the diverse needs of students. Teach mathematical concepts including arithmetic, fractions, decimals, basic geometry, and introductory algebra to 5th and 6th grade students. Assess student progress regularly through quizzes, tests, and assignments, providing constructive feedback. Create a classroom environment that encourages student participation, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Collaborate with other teachers and staff to support student learning and school initiatives. Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and behavior. Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and concerns. Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Education, Mathematics, or a related field. Valid teaching certification/license for the state of Indiana. Experience teaching math to upper elementary or middle school students preferred. Strong knowledge of math curriculum and instructional strategies for grades 5-6.
