  • Working Hard While Having Fun Primary Function: Ampacet is seeking a Plant Manager for our Terre Haute, IN location. The Plant Manager is responsible for driving a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement while managing end-to-end plant operations including: Production, Warehousing, Inventory Management and Controls, and Logistics. This hands-on position is responsible for achieving our critical customer requirements of quality, cost, and on-time delivery in a high volume commodity production environment. She/He is also responsible for the development and enforcement of policies and procedures to deliver profitable results in a safe environment. Responsibilities: Business and Product/Production Management:
    • Manage with a "Go to where the work is" concept in place of a job-defining or restrictive approach to work applications.
    • Obtain and maintain optimal quality and salability of products and services.
    • Experience in the development and/or implementation of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) used in manufacturing, to track and document the transformation of raw materials to finished goods.
    • Create, analyze and manage plant KPI/primary business drivers: -Quality / Process -Price / Cost -Speed / Service / Delivery
      • Develop impactful goals and ensure all plant functional areas are aligned and have initiatives / objectives that deliver results.
      • Provide timely reports as requested to Leadership and others.
      • Integrate Voice-of-Customer(VOC) requirements into all operational functions.
      • Provide input into the development of the annual operating budget and manage costs to keep within budget. Develop and prepare the annual capital budget to maintain the business and to support the strategic business plan.
      • Maintain and act upon market dynamics/drivers such as:
      • Competitor actions/challenges to market share
      • Customer requests, needs, satisfaction, future growth opportunities
      • Modernization/enhancements to processes, techniques, equipment Facility, Environmental, Health, and Safety Management:
        • Maintain a safe and legally compliant workplace. Enforce all corporate policies, procedures, and legal and environmental regulations.
        • Implement and maintain meaningful and impactful sustainability practices.
        • Demonstrate risk assessment approaches and applications.
        • Maintain a clean, safe, organized, and well-maintained facility and assets.
        • Evaluate and recommend equipment additions, retirement of assets, upgrades, and maintenance needs.
        • Be involved in the community. Employee Management:
          • Foster employee engagement in a culture that embraces ownership, open and ongoing communication, teamwork, and accountability.
          • Provide direction and professional expertise to subordinate managers with the shared goal of achieving objectives within scheduled timelines and budgets.
          • Provide coaching and mentoring to support employee growth and development. Ensure the workforce is properly trained, performance reviewed regularly, and all operating procedures are followed. Recommend or approve as authorized, plant personnel changes, training and promotions.
          • Demonstrate drive to continually improve and achieve personal and organization excellence.
            Requirements/Qualifications:
            • Bachelor's Degree preferred, MBA a plus.
            • Management of a site with 90+ employees and three-shift/continuous operations environment required.
            • Masterbatch and/or compounding production experience is required.
            • Proven leadership experience with 10 or more years' experience in manufacturing and management experience of multiple functions is preferred.
            • Experience in the development, immplementation and use of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) used in manufacturing, to track and document the transformation of raw materials to finished goods, is required.
            • Minimum of Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification - continuous improvement experience and mindset is a must.
            • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing personal development and training. Must be authorized to work in the US without the need for current or future sponsorship for employment visa status.
