Store Manager and team in giving direction and guidance that will
elevate and increase work productivity among the sales team while
seeing that all practices are being followed to ensure the proper
operation of Wabash Valley Goodwill retail stores.Core Competencies

Assists management in maintaining the
proper operation of a Goodwill retail store. - Assumes leadership
responsibilities when the Store Manager is absent.Provides
excellent customer service to shoppers, customers, and donors of
Wabash Valley Goodwill. - This is done by assisting when service is
needed.Multi-tasks and communicates store needs to all team
members. Keeps the store full, clean, and pulled.Maintains
excellent attendance.On time for work and all scheduled
meetings.Reviews customer/employee complaints and resolves them as
appropriate. - Reports complaints to the Store Manager.Transmits
all reports to management as required.Answers phone calls from
customers and employees.May receive calls during non-working hours
from any Goodwill employee for support.Ensures all policies and
procedures are followed.Ability to compute rate, ratio, and
percent.Must have basic computer skills.Store Responsibilities:
Meets required overall
sales/production goals and quotas.Maintains proper security of the
building and merchandise.Assures the store has accurate and
appropriate coverage and fills in the gaps when needed.Monitors the
operations of cash registers and deposits to ensure the proper
accountability of all transactions, on a daily, ongoing
basisMonitors the stock level and maintenance of store merchandise
and adjusts as necessary.Ensures that proper merchandising and
displays are through the store.Assistance in directing stocking
procedures in the store.Practices proper opening and closing
procedures, when assigned and scheduled. Sorts and prices incoming
stock as needed.Know of store layout, policies, and price
lines.Advises the store manager if maintenance of the building is
required. - If immediate attention is needed, contact the
appropriate personnel and issue work orders. Same duties as sales
associates applies to all management team members.Make bank
deposits and banking visits for store change when needed.Ability to
read and comprehend simple memos, instructions, and short
correspondence. - Ability to write simple correspondence, ability
to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group
situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the
organization.Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into
all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and
decimals.Team Member Responsibilities:
Leads by the example of what an
exemplary employee should look like. Gives clear direction and
communicates the expectations required of each task, when assigned
and scheduled. -Stops, refrains from, or does not contribute to
drama in the workplace.Ensure that employees have engaged in
work-related activities at all times.Completes assignment sheets
for employees and ensures employees are staying in assigned
areas.Reports requests for leaves through the proper channels. -
This includes anyone not working as scheduled and shift
switches.Conducts and maintains confidentiality of employee
disciplines and guidance. - Advises management staff, along with
the appropriate personnel at the main office, promptly. - Prepares
employees' work schedules if requested by the manager. - Also posts
the team schedule and submits the schedule to the main
office.Welcomes new employees and provides support to reduce
employee turnover.Must be able to handle team member disputes
promptly and document them in the personnel file. Assists in
training new employees and re-training current ones.Ability to
effectively instruct personnel in written, oral, or diagram
form.Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.Supervisory
Responsibilities - - - Supervises Sales Associates, Client Workers,
volunteers, and others. Education and or Experience - Must have a
high school diploma or GED, and must have at least one year of
experience working in a retail setting. Must have a valid driver's
license and insurance.Safety StatementAssociates are required to
follow Goodwill's safety rules and regulations, as outlined in
Goodwill's employee handbook.
Responsible for reporting any
potentially unsafe working conditions.Responsible for reporting any
incident/accident that occurs within the shift it occurred.
Responsible for wearing the proper protective equipment as
assigned.Responsible to use the equipment & materials
properly.Physical Demands:
Ability to stand on feet for long
periods, 7-8 hours per day.Ability to lift to 50 pounds, move/push
/ pull up to 100 pounds.Ability to use hand to finger, handle, or
feel, and reach with hands and arms.Specific vision abilities
required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and
ability to adjust focus, ability to distinguish colors.Ability to
operate and drive a motor vehicle and maintain a current driver's
license and insurance. Must be able to work in hot/cold
temperatures.Work Environment: While performing the duties of this
job, the employee is regularly exposed to airborne particles. The
employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The
