Job Description:

Senior Manager of Compensation and Benefits Summary:--Assists the Director in theleadership and management of the Office of Human Resources. Essential Duties andResponsibilities:--Design, maintain, implement &administer competitive and legally compliant compensation &benefits programs for all employees. Participates in marketand salary surveys to ensure compensation and benefits programs arebenchmarked against best practices, researched against industry andemployment trends, and compliant with legislation. Assists withperformance management including merit increase and analysis.Creates ad hoc reports and prepares data for compensation andbenefits analysis for all levels of the organization. Assists inanalysis for preparing and coordinating annual benefits openenrollment process including employee communication &education. Responsible for administering all compensation &benefit programs, including making recommendations for enhancementsand compliance related changes. Ensures compliance with all laborand benefit laws, and stays current on regulatory changes. Auditscompensation, retirement plans, and benefits data. Oversees payrolladministration by directly supervising the payroll manager andassisting with the following duties: payroll processing,reconciliation of salary, wage and payroll related accounts;providing payroll and tax information, resources and periodicupdates to all Institute employees; serving as a resource forinternational tax issues and compliance; overseeing year end Wageand Tax Statements (W-2 forms). Prepares and/or participates ingovernment filings, plan audits, and other tax-reportingrequirements as necessary. Works with Financial Aid officeregarding student employment and the Federal Work Study Program.Serves as the Institute's Affirmative Action Compliance Officer;tracks required statistical data and implements strategies toincrease recruitment of protected veterans, women, minorities andthe disabled; works with Director and legal counsel regarding OFCCPprogram requirements. Assists Director in reviewing, developing,interpreting and complying with Institute policies and proceduresto ensure federal and state regulatory compliance for theInstitute; and maintaining and updating the Staff Handbook. Servesas a back-up in the absence of the Human Resources Director. Otherduties may be assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities:--Directlysupervises the Payroll Manager--and HR Generalist - Benefits.Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with theorganization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilitiesinclude interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning,assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewardingand disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolvingproblems. Qualifications:--Bachelor's degree in humanresources or related field required; Master's degree preferred;minimum of 3-5 years progressive human resources experiencerequired especially in compensation, payroll administration, talentacquisitions, or benefits; experience with Banner and onlineapplicant tracking systems strongly desired; management,supervisory, or leadership experience required; experience inhigher education preferred; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite;ability to work independently and efficiently to meet deadlineswhile maintaining a high attention to detail; demonstratedsupervisory abilities.
