Experience: Minimum 3 years in Neuro Intensive Care Unit License:
IN or Compact License required Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIHSS
Must-Have: NIHSS certification must be in hand to be considered.
Must be flexible with weekend requirements based on unit needs.
Travelers must be able to work 50% of the weekends during their
contract. Travel nurses may be asked to precept and/or have
students shadow them. Local candidates will not be accepted.
Description: Candidates must have NIHSS certification in hand to be
considered. Flexibility with weekend shifts is required based on
unit needs. Travel nurses must be available to work 50% of weekends
within their contract. Travel nurses should be comfortable with
precepting or having students shadow them during their assignment.
Only travelers who hold an IN or compact license will be
considered. Any call-ins for contracted shifts must be made up
within the pay period as specified. Pending operational needs, unit
charge nurse responsibilities may be required with training
provided. Candidates should have experience with interpretation and
management of dysrhythmias, ICP, and IV starts. Floating to
different levels of care may be required. Staffing ratios for the
unit will be 1:2-3. The unit will care for neuro, medical,
surgical, and trauma ICU patients. Travelers must complete required
certifications as specified in job description. Any disciplinary
concerns should be noted and approved prior to the offer.
Candidates must work 2 out of 3 major holidays. Floating within the
hospital or to nearby affiliates is required. Modules are
non-billable and must be completed pre-start through the online
learning system.
