Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 18 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 18 months required License: Indiana or Compact License required Certifications: ACLS, BCLS required; NIH preferred Must-Have: Strong skills in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, post cardiac surgery care, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care, PICC line management, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips. Description: We are seeking a Registered Nurse for a progressive care unit that combines multiple acuity levels. The nurse must be comfortable working in both progressive care and medical-surgical settings. The nurse will work across various units as needed. Typical patient diagnoses include cardiovascular surgery, thoracic surgery, cardiology, endocrine, and oncology. Experience with intra-aortic balloon pumps, pre/post cardiac catheterization care, and ventilator management is preferred. The role involves high-level critical thinking and rapid decision-making. The nurse will manage a patient ratio of 1:5. Floating to meet facility needs is required. The candidate must be willing to work two out of three major holidays. Weekend requirements are every other weekend. Previous charge experience is preferred. The unit features all private rooms equipped with overhead lifts and telemetry. Candidates must be prepared for a variety of patient populations, including those that are ventilated or require advanced cardiac monitoring.
