Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours (06:00 -
18:30) Experience: Minimum 18 months of experience required
License: Must have state license in hand prior to start.
Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required. Pending licenses
accepted. Must-Have: Experience with Cardizem, Amiodarone, Lasix,
Insulin, Post Heart Cath, and Post Pacemaker. Solid Neuro
experience is required. Must be able to manage and administer
cardiac drips without titration. Experience in mixed acuity units,
oncology, and stroke care preferred. Description: This position
involves providing nursing care to medical and surgical patients,
including some progressive care unit patients. It requires the
ability to work with both stable and unstable patients. The
patient-to-nurse ratio for medical/surgical patients is 1:5-6,
while for progressive care unit patients it is 1:3-4.
Responsibilities include managing drips, monitoring vitals, and
administering medications. Patients may require the use of BiPap
and management of unstable strokes. This unit encompasses a dynamic
range of care including oncology, stroke, cardiac,
gastrointestinal, and pulmonary issues. Interdisciplinary support
is available from various healthcare professionals including
physical therapy and pharmacy. Floating may be required within the
facility or affiliated locations. The work environment promotes
collaboration among staff to ensure quality patient care.
