Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Evansville,

Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, days -

Evansville, IN Stepdown Cardiac Neuro - Days NO LOCAL CANIDATES (40
MILE RADIUS RULE) Contract Length: 13 weeks Start: 1/12 - Bi-weekly
orientation Guaranteed Hours: 36 (will accept 48 upon request)
Shift Requirement: 12hr Days 6:30-7 Float Requirement: First to
float within skillset. 2 HR notice given for cross campus float.
Mid-shift float within same campus. Cross campus mid-shift float is
unlikely but possible. Weekend/Holiday Requirement: Three weekends
out of every six-week schedule. Every other holiday. Required Certs
to be attached upon submittal: Must have current active compact
license. AHA BLS, AHA ACLS and NIHSS* Minimum Experience REQUIRED:
2 solid years Stepdown 1 travel contract OR 5 years of solid
Stepdown if no travel experience* Charting Experience: Recent EPIC
experience required (will be required to do a checkoff class)*
Patient Population: Post procedure cardiac
(cath/stents/interventions, pacers, ICD, ablation), Identify/care
of STEMI/NSTEMI, Carotid endarterectomy, Sepsis, Neuro (CVAs,
seizures, possible TBI), DKA. Skillset: Tele/12-lead EKG
interpretation (TRAVELERS REQUIRED TO PASS TELE TESTS), post heart
cath care (fem./TR bands), initiate/titrate drips (Cardizem, Amio,
cardene, nitro, Insulin, Heparin), NIHSS/strong neuro assessments,
sepsis care, chest tubes, PIV insertion. Must have strong
assessment and critical thinking skills! Unit Information: 19 beds,
blended unit (8 designated Stepdown bed, 11 MS/T) Ratio: Days
1:5-6; CN will take patients. Stepdown RNs will take MS/T patients.
Unit Strengths: The manager opening this unit has been with
Deaconess over 20 years and had the lowest turnover in the
organization for 2024. Scrub Colors: Navy blue scrubs - No
competing health systems or agency logos * 3 call-ins can result in
termination * Teaching hospital, may require precepting of students
& new hires Covid-19 Vaccine Not Required Subject to change Step
