Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of
various machines, including Granulator, Shredder, Color System, Wet
Sorter System, and Extruder. This role also involves material
handling and ensuring the production of high-quality products.
Responsibilities Understand and apply information from the Run
Instruction Sheet (RIS). Set up, run, shut down, troubleshoot,
clean, and perform general maintenance of machines. Take regular
samples and probe boxes as directed by RIS. Report discrepancies to
lab personnel and supervisor. Thoroughly clean boxes, lids, and
skids before use. Discard any substandard material before reuse.
Complete the Run Number Time Log at the end of each shift. Update
RIS as necessary and inform the supervisor in a timely manner.
Maintain a clean and organized work area throughout the shift.
Maintain production logs and quality control records. Accurately
compute weights and record them in the appropriate places. Become
certified as a forklift and aerial lift operator as needed. Load
and unload materials and place them in inventory locations using a
forklift or pallet jack. Prepare boxes for material by labeling and
removing extra labels. Essential Skills Experience in a
manufacturing environment around machines is preferred. Ability to
make mathematical computations, including adding, subtracting, and
calculating percentages. Good handwriting for record-keeping
purposes. Experience in troubleshooting within a manufacturing
environment. Sit-down forklift experience. Ability to stand for the
entire shift, except during breaks. Ability to lift up to 65 lbs
occasionally. Comfortable with heights for aerial lift operations.
Steel-toed or composite-toed shoes are required. Availability to
work mandated Saturdays if business needs dictate. Additional
Skills & Qualifications Mechanical aptitude and basic math skills.
Quality check experience. Knowledge of machine operation and
production processes. Experience in plastics manufacturing,
injection molding, or extrusion. Avaialbe Shift & Pay 3rd shift:

Work Environment Work in a traditional manufacturing environment
with large machines handling plastics materials. The plant can get
hot in the summer and is comfortably cool in the winter. Hearing
and eye protection is required due to dust and noise. Employees
must be willing to climb stairs and use aerial lifts as needed. The
dress code includes avoiding baggy clothing, securing long hair,
and wearing steel or composite-toed shoes. Personal electronics are
not permitted on the production floor. Job Type & Location This is
a Contract to Hire position based out of Indianapolis, IN. Pay and
Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.00/hr.
