Registered Nurse (RN) Critical Care ICU Clinical Coordinator

Schedule: Full Time Nights

Must be RN with at least 2 years of Critical Care experience. Candidates must have excellent communication and organization skills, able to handle multiple priorities, make decisions under pressure and able handle stress appropriately. BSN and PCCN or CCRN certification preferred. Must be BLS and ACLS certified. Trauma experience a plus!

Position summary: This position will assist the Critical Care Director with daily operations, education, orientation, daily rounds and documentation requirements.   

Position responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for assisting the director by managing critical care service’s daily operations, including staffing, supply ordering / inventory, daily rounds and documentation requirements.
  • Assists with reviewing productivity via PLUS at a frequency to allow timely staffing decisions to achieve the least costly staffing mix and minimizing overtime.  
  • Assists the director in the clinical quality of critical care services being performed.
  • Enforces department policies, procedures, protocols, regulations, and standards. 
  • Coordinates departmental PI program, outcomes management projects and other hospital initiatives as directed.  
  • Accountable for all phases of staff development including recruitment, orientation, retention, supervision, competency, and professional growth.
  • Assists with planning yearly education calendar and provides ongoing educational activities and opportunities for staff members based on personnel needs.
  •  Assists with and provides input to the director for employee performance management plans. 
  • Provides leadership and support to all critical care staff in absence of director.


Essential educational/licensure, skills and experience:

  • Must be a licensed, Registered Nurse
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in critical care
  • BCLS and ACLS certification must be maintained throughout entire employment
  • CCRN or PCCN must be obtained with 2 years of hire
  • CPI certification must be obtained within 1 year of hire
  • TCAT course within 1 year of hire and repeat course every 4 years
  • Computer literacy & familiarity with nearly all Microsoft Office products

Valued but not required educational/licensure, skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in related field
  • 5 years of critical care experience preferred
  • 2 years of leadership experience in related field preferred
