We are currently looking for an Environmental Coordinator to join our team in Terre Haute, IN.
This position will work collaboratively with the site EHS Manager to develop and implement procedures, processes and programs compliant with IFF EHS standards, OSHA and other Local, State, and Federal regulations with focus on key continuous improvement initiatives.
Main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:



  • Advise the organization of Environmental requirements, expectations, and best practices. Recommend improvements and standardization for practices and procedures to ensure compliance of site personnel and site permits.


  • Performs and oversees activities related to environmental compliance for the organization's operations and to maintain the right-to-operate.


  • Coordinates safety data sheets (SDSs) and uploads to electronic system as needed.


  • Resource completion of all regulatory submissions, notifications, etc. required to maintain compliance with federal, state, and local requirements. Interact with agencies for inspections and regulatory advocacy.


  • Drives Environmental audit program to examine compliance with regulations and conformance with corporate standards and other related commitments. Ensure track-to-closure of corrective and improvement actions taken in response to audit findings.


  • Leads, develops or coordinates training programs to increase proficiency in Environmental practices and promote awareness. Documents and maintains required training records per organizational and corporate guidelines.


  • Ensure timely reporting, classification, and investigation of Environmental incident or near miss events.


  • Maintain compliance mapping, compliance calendar and Environmental performance metrics (leading and lagging indicators)


  • Participate in Environmental networks or committees within the organization.


  • Possess knowledge or be willing to learn the following activities to assist the site EHS Manager:


  • Waste Management Activities


  • Wastewater Certified Operator


  • Drinking Water and Water Withdrawal


  • Individual NPDES Permit Management - Stormwater


  • Annual Reporting Requirements - Tier II, TRI, Annual Hazardous Waste Report, Annual Air Permit Report


  • Environmental Plan Updates- Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan, Hazardous Waste Contingency Plan, Spill Response Plan, Groundwater Protection Plan


  • Environmental Training for site personnel


  • Corporate ISO 14001 Program Management


    Job Requirements
    Qualifications Minimum Requirements:


    • Bachelor's Degree and/or equivalent experience in an Environmental or affiliated discipline and a minimum of 2 years in EHS or related positions.


    • Advanced working knowledge of EHS regulations. Preferred working knowledge of EHS management practices, processes, and expectations.


    • Possess the experience and working knowledge to identify potential risks or gaps in EHS policies and procedures, identify and propose potential solutions, and recommend an action plan.


    • Demonstrated ability to work independently (self-manage, plan and organize work, establish goals and objectives) with minimal day-to-day supervision, effectively manage multiple and changing priorities and to participate with teams/work groups to assess hazards, provide solutions and identify opportunities for improvements in meeting regulatory, corporate and organizational compliance. Ability to draw from experience and knowledge of technical learnings and from peer resources to arrive at professional decisions to recommend to site personnel.


    • Demonstrated skills to work effectively, professionally and respectfully in a team-based environment and to promote respectful interaction with others in all aspects of people interactions. Ability to build professional relationships, and to involve, and network with peers, customers, line management and technical competency experts. Strong interpersonal skills are required.


    • Demonstrated ability to influence others in support of organizational goals and objectives. Ability to get agreement in an environment of common and conflicting needs. Finds alternative pathways to act when barriers are encountered.


    • Demonstrate good decision making based on analysis, knowledge, experience, and judgement


    • Demonstrated effective oral presentation, report writing, and other written communication skills.


    • Demonstrated skill in operation of office and database computer software (i.e., Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, SharePoint).


    • Strong project management, organization, and prioritization skills.


    • Demonstrated ability to maintain and renew technical and regulatory expertise (active learner).
