We are currently looking for an Advanced Hydrogenation Process
Operator to join our Terre Haute team.
The Advanced Hydrogenation Process Operator reports to the Area
Line Manager and is responsible for start-up and shut-down of
complex equipment associated with hydrogenation reaction, ion
exchange, filtration and evaporation processes, catalyst charging
and removal operations, monitoring process variables, sampling and
testing process streams, raw material inventory and control,
building to building process transfers, and performance of day to
day housekeeping and sanitation schedules.
Key Elements:
--- Monitor and control Litesse Hydrogenation, filtration, ion
exchange and evaporation processes.
--- Utilize the computerized distributed process control
system.
--- Perform catalyst charging, removal and recovery procedures.
--- Understand and adhere to critical OSHA Highly Hazardous safety
procedures within the Hydrogenation Process, including Management
of Change.
--- Troubleshoot, correct and/or report variances from desired
levels.
--- Comprehend and comply with all quality, environmental, and
safety management system requirements.
--- Perform tasks such as climbing ladders, accessing valves in
pipe racks, operating fork trucks and lifting up to 55 lbs.
--- Sample, test and document the process stream at various
intervals.
--- Monitor nitrogen and hydrogen tanks for proper pressure,
inventory and any operational issues.
--- Operate equipment cleaning systems.
--- Perform minor mechanical tasks ensuring that equipment is in
good operating condition.
--- Prepare equipment for maintenance or start-up, including
purging and lockouts. Generate work orders where required.
--- Assist in the completion of other departmental tasks as
required (for example, assist with unit operations near buildings
1175 and 1176).
--- Perform as a Rare Sugars Operator when needed during campaigns
(Idle at Present).
--- Work from computer station in 1195 control room and assist in
1195 operations as needed.
--- Perform activities per the Hazardous Waste and DOT Hazardous
Material - Position Description Appendix, EDOC-030
Job Requirements
Qualifications
Required:
--- High School degree with strong mathematics.
--- Three years Chemical Process Operations, or chemical
manufacturing experience
--- Ability to perform basic math skills, use simple technical
formulas, and work with charts/tables.
--- Ability to read and comprehend complex operating procedures is
required.
--- Must successfully obtain forklift certification and hold a
valid Indiana drivers license.
--- Must work 12 hour rotating shifts including weekends and
holidays. Must work overtime as required.
--- Must be able to repeatedly lift 55 pounds.
--- Must be able to climb stairs and ladders.
--- Must be capable of completing work while wearing a
respirator.
--- Strong mechanical, technical, and chemical aptitude is
required.
--- Must be committed to working in a team environment to achieve
group objectives.
--- Must possess good written and oral communication skills.
Preferred:
--- An Associate's degree or higher in a technical or science
related field
--- Five years OSHA Highly Hazardous chemical process
experience.
--- OSHA Highly Hazardous chemical process experience
--- Knowledge of or experience with process control systems
(Fisher, Bailey, etc.) personal computers, and software such as
Notes, Excel, and Word is highly desired.
--- Advanced mathematical courses/ability to complete advanced
calculations
--- Military experience is desired.
