Summary
THIS IS AN INDIANA NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE
POSITION
This position is in the Excepted Service "under the authority of
Title V, P.L. 114-328, Sections 932 and 1084 (FY17 NDAA)
This position is part of the IN 181st Intelligence Wing, Indiana
National Guard under Position Description Number T5821400.

Qualifications
This position conducts information assurance functions. The
incumbent shall comply with the requirements of the certification
program and will be required to obtain and maintain certification.
Certification requirements are outlined in DoD Instruction
8570.01-M
To ensure compliance with an applicable nationwide preliminary
injunction, which may be supplemented, modified, or vacated,
depending on the course of ongoing litigation, the Federal
Government will take no action to implement or enforce the COVID-19
vaccination requirement pursuant to Executive Order 14043 on
Requiring Coronavirus Disease 2019 Vaccination for Federal
Employees. Therefore, to the extent a federal job announcement
includes the requirement that applicants must be fully vaccinated
against COVID-19 pursuant to Executive Order 14043, that
requirement does not currently apply. Federal agencies may request
information regarding the vaccination status of selected applicants
for the purposes of implementing other workplace safety protocols,
such as protocols related to masking, physical distancing, testing,
travel, and quarantine.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE:For all positions individuals must have
IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies
listed below. The employing agency is responsible for identifying
the specific level of proficiency required for each competency at
each grade level based on the requirements of the position being
filled.

who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside

assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations;
knows about available products and services; is committed to
providing quality products and services.
3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas
or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account
the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical,
sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral
presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and
responds appropriately.
4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and
relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and
evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:At least one year of specialized experience
at the next lower GS-grade (or equivalent). Specialized experience
is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular
competencies/knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully
perform the duties of the position and is typically in or related
to the work of the position to be filled. Such experience is
typically gained in the IT field or through the performance of work
where the primary concern is IT. The employing agency is
responsible for defining the specialized experience based on the
requirements of the position being filled.

after being selected for a tenure
1, 2, or 3 position before applying for another Indiana National
Guard Federal Technician position on USAJOBS. This includes new

IF you were selected for a Temporary Promotion, your 18 month
period does not restart and will remain the effective date of your

Education
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
or
3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education
leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
OR The specialized experience listed above.
To receive credit for Education, you must provide transcripts or
documentation of proof that you meet the Education requirements for
this position.
